Natural scented candles from OsteoWellbeing

Our osteopath Süheyla also makes her own natural scented candles. Süheyla is a migraine sufferer and one of her main triggers is smell – the paraffin in most branded candles can set off her symptoms immediately. So, she began to research natural candles and how to make them using popular essential oils (lavender is a firm favourite).

Süheyla originally started making candles for herself at home and for her treatment rooms, but when people asked if she could make some for them, she decided to sell them at the clinic. Now, our candles are a popular form of therapy in themselves – patients want a little bit of OsteoWellbeing healing to take home with them. Süheyla is also open to ideas if clients would like their own blends.

Süheyla’s candles were a great success, and the rest is history. Learn about our range of candles here, and pick yours up next time you’re passing by.

How our candles are made

All of our candles are handmade and hand poured by Süheyla in her own kitchen. They are made with soy wax and have a little mica powder added to give them their unique shimmer. Some are made with pure essential oils and are 100% natural, whilst some are made with seasonal fragrance oils. The candles are then labelled by Süheyla and uniquely decorated in keeping with their fragrance.

As Süheyla makes the labels herself, she can personalise them for events, or to give as gifts. Please let us know if this is something you would like.

Many of the candles have specific health benefits such as decongestion, relaxation or rejuvenation. For more details, please ask one of our osteopaths.

Our core range
of candles

Please note, that all scents are available as wax melts as well.

The Lavender Candle

Lavender is well known for its soothing, relaxing and sedative qualities. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory, detoxifying and anti-depressant properties. This candle is great for people leading stressful lives who might be struggling to relax and sleep, or those feeling a little anxious.

The Citrus Candles

Citrus oils are known for their refreshing and anti-bacterial qualities – they are great for uplifting and re-energising. They also stimulate immune activity and are a great support to the immune system. These candles are wonderful for those feeling a little fatigued, lethargic or anxious, as citrus oils can help boost physical and emotional energies. They are great for adding a refreshing feeling to your environment, and for keeping germs at bay when someone is ill.

The Eucalyptus and Peppermint Candle

Peppermint oil is known for its decongestive properties and it is believed that it can help focus the mind and improve memory. Eucalyptus oil has many benefits, including decongestion, anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to soothe coughs. A less well-known fact is that some experts say eucalyptus helps control blood sugar levels, and therefore can help patients with diabetes. This candle is perfect for those suffering with headaches, coughs and sinus congestion. It’ll also help you focus the mind ahead of an assignment or a big deadline.

The Cinnamon
Candle

Cinnamon oil has been studied a lot and results show it has antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant and even antidiabetic properties. This candle is perfect for those who love the spicy sweet smell of cinnamon, and who find it a relaxing fragrance.
